Two Months Old

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            January 18, 2011
Today you're two months old! I can't believe how big you are and how much you've learned! You are starting to grab things and reach out for toys or anything that seems interesting to you. You've started cooing more and will talk back and forth with me. I love our little "chatting" times when you look up at me and just tell me all you can in your little baby coos! You've had a few small laughs and you smile all the time! Your first laugh was at our dog Izzy. I was throwing the ball for her and you just thought she was the funniest thing! I ran in to tell daddy to come watch, but you wouldn't do it again lol! You try and help mommy feed you by grabbing the bottle or onto mommy! You are having fun exploring the world around you. You love to lay on the ground with your baby gym and swing at the toys hanging above! It's so much fun to watch you get excited when the toys move and how you are figuring out how to hit them.

Your Two Month Doctor Visit-

Today you got your shots! I was so nervous all day and so worried how you'd react! Momma hates needles..! You screamed your poor little heart out for a few minutes, but soon calmed down in my arms. I cried and was upset longer than you were. Right now just an hour after your shots you're sleeping away in my arms!

You weigh 13lbs 7.5oz (95 percentile!) and you are 23.5 inches long (88th percentile)!! Big Girl!! I love you tummy and chunky thighs!!

Shots or no shots?
At first Justin and I were uncertain what shots to give and why they were or weren't necessary. I was originally worried about the possible link to vaccines and autism, but my fears were quickly relieved when I did the research and found how many studies have been done to disprove this theory. We then got all her shots except for the Hep B. Initially, I decided "there was no need because in order for her to get Hep B she has to have unprotected sex..! That's obviously not going to happen for a while so we can do that later. Oh and I'm raising my child right and she isn't going to do that." Then I came to a different conclusion, one we might put it off and put it off until it's too late, so do it now. And also, I can do everything in my power to raise Abby right and to teach her good morals and values.
Proverbs 22:6 says
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
BUT I can't be with her all the time, she's going to make decisions, and sometimes bad decisions. If she ever makes the decision to have unprotected sex and before she's married, than wouldn't I want her to have the protection this vaccine offers?? So I changed my mind and we went back in to get the Hep B vaccine.

Not even joking you she wanted to hold her bear when she got home..she wanted mommy and her bear! :-)

Here are some pics of you at 2 months!

One thing you LOVE to do right now when you're laying on your back is to turn your head and look up! :-)
